“House” is a wire basketry piece woven completely by hand. I formed the shape as the weaving progressed. For a little taste of the process check out the work-in-progress video below.
It is woven with fine gauge colored copper wire and is signed on the base with my initials “SLS” and the year completed.
I love the slow process of my basketry work – slow building. I wish I could show the process along with the finished piece, because for me it is a significant part of the whole.
